Conor McGregor Patty Pimblett and Chandler bet goes wrong

Patti Pilet, Chandler Connor McGregor

So, get this: Conor McGregor, the man who's conquered two weight classes, put down a hefty half-a-million bucks on his old foe Michael Chandler to take out Paddy Pimblett in the co-main event down in Miami. Apparently, McGregor's been keeping a close eye on this matchup, and with good reason. Both Chandler and Pimblett are on his radar as potential dance partners if he ever decides to step back into the Octagon. Interesting, right?

You might remember that McGregor and Chandler actually coached against each other on The Ultimate Fighter back in 2023, and they even split the wins in the finals. Things were all set for them to finally throw down at UFC 303 last year, but unfortunately, McGregor had to pull out due to a broken toe. And as of right now, that fight is still up in the air – no new date on the books yet.

Alright, so check this out: Conor McGregor, ever the showman, decided to throw down a massive $500,000 bet on his old TUF rival Michael Chandler to KO Paddy Pimblett at UFC 314. He was so confident, he even called it a "brutal KO" in a video, saying while Paddy's improved, he still favored Chandler. Well, plot twist! The fight went completely sideways. Pimblett ended up turning the tables, landing a nasty knee that opened Chandler up bad before finishing him with a TKO in the third. Talk about a brutal outcome... just not for who McGregor was expecting! Looks like "Mystic Mac's" betting magic didn't quite work this time.
