Best Dream11 Fantasy Cricket Team for INDIA vs ENGLAND 1st T20I | Match Prediction | Dream 11 Prediction
Team 1:
Salt (C), Samson (VC), Buttler, Tilak Verma, SKY, Pandya, Livingstone, Arshdeep, Wood, Adil Rashid, Varun Chakravorty
Team 2:
Salt (C), Samson, Tilak Verma, SKY, Pandya, Rinku Singh, Axar, Arshdeep, Wood, Ravi Bishnoi, Varun Chakravorty (VC)
Dream11 Wicket Keeper Prediction: Both teams play with multiple quality wicket-keepers, making it a tough task to pick one. However, considering the recent form, Samson gets a nod above the rest as he has scored 2 big hundreds in his last T20I series in South Africa. The other notable option can be Phil Salt who played for IPL Champions, KKR here last season. Including Buttler as the WK option wouldn’t be bad choice either. Ben Duckett should be a big NO for this position.
Dream11 Batters Prediction: Both teams pack powerful batters throughout their line-up, again making it a tough choice to pick between the two. The top-order is packed with powerful hitters who can easily take advantage of the small ground at the Eden gardens. But considering the recent form and familiarity with the environment, Phil Salt and Sanju Samson makes the list as the openers. Tilak Verma and SKY makes the list for the next 2 positions but including Buttler at 3 for SKY/Tilak Verma isn’t a bad choice either. Abhishek Sharma and Ben Duckett can also play impactful innings since the ground is considered a high-scoring venue.
Dream11 All-rounder Prediction: While England will miss the services of Will Jacks and Sam Curran, both dropped but they have a rookie Brydon Carse (Seam all-rounder) and Liam Livingstone (spin all-rounder). They are also relying on some handy-spin from new sensation Jacob Bethell.
On the other hand, India will head into the match with seasoned all-rounder Hardik Pandya (seam all-rounder) and Axar Patel (spin). Ramandeep Singh will be a distant choice considering his batting position and limited bowling capacity. Considering the spin-friendly track, Axar makes a better impact as a bowler while Pandya will have an edge as a batsman, since he bats higher.
Hence, any combination of Livingstone, Axar, and Pandya would work.
Dream11 Bowlers Prediction:
India will be without many of its first-choice bowlers for this series but still looks a strong outfit. Injuries to Mayank and Kuldeep Yadav has dented them. On the other hand, England has arrived with their veterans; Wood, Archer, and Adil Rashid.
However, Indian bowling still holds an edge for this match courtesy of their better spin attack. Chakravorty is a seasoned campaigner for KKR while Axar is one of the premium spin all-rounders for India. Bishnoi brings variety to the attack and Arshdeep will lead the pace attack. India will not mind heading into the match with Pandya and Arshdeep with Ramandeep as the back-up pacer.
Score prediction: It will be a high-scoring match since both teams are packed with powerful-hitters. If India will be high on confidence having scored record runs against SA. England too had a high-scoring series against the WI recently.
The venue has a contrasting story. While the international matches has seen decent scores in the T20 format, the IPL matches with Impact player rules has seen massive scores. Last season, we witnessed PBKS chase 261 with ease against KKR.
In the last 10 matches here, teams batting first have scored 194.2 runs. While the win ratio stands at 5-5 each, suggesting that it is an even contest with high scores at the ground.
If India bats first on a traditional Eden Gardens track: 190-210
Powerplay score: 55 to 70 runs
If England bats first: 170-190
Powerplay score: 50 to 65 runs
Dream11 Captain Prediction
This will be the toughest decision to make since the ground offers a lot to batters and spinners. The match also features many local talents from the KKR squad, making it even tougher. However, considering the limited scope of T20 cricket and favorable conditions for spinners, top-order batters and spinners get an advantage here above the pacers.
Top-order batters from both teams are in form. Phil Salt recently surged to a career-high rating of 860 against WI last year. He is currently ranked #2, just above his captain, Jos Buttler, at #5. Salt is immediately followed by batting sensation from the Mumbai Indians squad, Tilak Verma at #3, followed by SKY at #4. Sanju Samson is also coming off a highly contrasting series against SA last year where he scored two centuries and two ducks.
Salt played 17 T20Is last year, scoring 467 runs with a healthy average of 38.91 and an SR of 164.43, and bludgeoned 44 fours and 25 sixes from the 284 balls he faced. His boundary hitting ratio is an impressive 4.11.
Samson played 13 T20Is last year, scoring 436 runs with a healthy average of 43.6 and an SR of 180.16, and bludgeoned 35 fours and 31 sixes from the 242 balls he faced. His boundary hitting ratio is an impressive 3.66.
Ravi Bishnoi leads the spin attack for India given his current form. He played 16 matches last year and took 22 wickets at an average of 20.86 runs per wicket and an SR of 16.6 runs/wicket while giving away 7.52 runs per over. Bishnoi is currently the highest-ranked T20I bowler from India at #6.
Adil Rashid leads the spin attack for England given his current form. He is currently ranked #2 in the world. He played 12 matches last year and took 15 wickets at an average of 19.73 runs per wicket and a SR of 17.2 runs/wicket while giving away 6.88 runs per over. However, his record against India hasn't been really great.
Varun Chakravorty is making a comeback to the international scene, but his form in the IPL for his side KKR has been impressive. He picked 21 wickets in 15 matches with an economy rate of 8.04. The number is impressive considering the high-scoring season. Hence, these spinners make the cut for the team, with Chakraborty having a slight advantage due to the home venue. Rashid and Bishnoi can be picked as second spinners.
Thus, either Samson, Salt, or Varun Chakravorty makes the cut as the first choice for captain and vice-captain. However, picking Tilak Verma as the vice-captain is also a good option.
Must picks: Phil Salt, Sanju Samson, Tilak Verma, Varun Chakravorty, Tilak Verma, SKY.
Risky choices: Jacob Bethell, Abhishek Sharma, Duckett.
