The PFW Mastodons have been a fun team to watch over the years, they are not the best team but they play hard. They come into The Basketball Classic this year for the Horizon League, finishing the year with an overall record of 21-12. Jalen Jackson has had a solid year and has led the Mastodons in scoring all year! Jackson averages 16.2 PPG along with 4.5 RPG and 2.6 APG while Rasheed Bello has 14.9 PPG with 2.9 RPG and a team-high 4.2 APG to lead the Mastodons in assists. Anthony Roberts has 13.2 PPG with 5.7 RPG and Quinton Morton-Robertson has 13.3 PPG with 2.4 APG to cap off the scoring in double figures for PFW up to this point in the year. Eric Mulder also leads the Mastodons on the glass with 7.2 RPG as well this season. As a team, PFW is averaging 80.9 PPG on 47.1% shooting from the field, 36.3% from behind the arc and 69.8% from the foul line this season. This team has shooters and multiple guys who can go get a inside bucket.

Now we look into The Bowling Green Falcons who come into The Basketball Classic repping the MAC and finishing the year with an overall record of 20-13. This team is blessed to have Marcus Hill who in my opinion is a highly underrated player in the MAC. Hill leads the Falcons in scoring and assists with 20.3 PPG and 2.6 APG while also logging 5 RPG. Trey Thomas has 11.7 PPG with 2.8 RPG and 2.3 APG in 26 games so far this year while Rashaun Agee has 13.2 PPG with a team-high 10 RPG to lead the Falcons on the glass up to this point in the season. Jason Spurgin has 10.3 PPG with 5.6 RPG to cap off the scoring in double figures for Bowling Green up to this point in the year. As a team, Bowling Green is averaging 74 PPG on 43.1% shooting from the field, 30% from three and 70.8% from the foul line this season. I think the wrong team is favored in this game, I think we are getting a great price with PFW here. I know it’s tempting to look at the home team in a pick ‘em spot, but Bowling Green’s offense can't be trusted and it simply isn’t good enough to make up for what they’re missing defensively! Bowling Green is a pretty bad 3-point defense and they are going up against a top-50 3-point offense in PFW. The Mastodons can put points on the board quickly and bury teams just as fast! I just don’t think that Bowling Green has the horses to keep up here for a full 40 minutes in this game! I will happily take PFW as a dawg here!
