The Padres Team Preview
I have been very high on the Padres for the last month or so, this team has really put things together and look very dangerous. I know the last few games have been tough and in their last game the offense couldn’t get anything going until they hit two home runs in the last two innings and that led to them getting the win. Jurickson Profar hit a home run and drove in two RBIs. Jackson Merril hit a walk off home run for the TKO.
The Padres are averaging 4.75 runs while their pitching is giving up 4.27 runs per game. The offense is ranked 11th in the league while the defense is ranked 13th. Jurickson Profar is having a great season, hitting 21 home runs and driving in 799 RBIs and he has made us a lot of money so far this year. This bullpen is great and I’m expecting this team to rise to the top soon! But they have been playing in close games lately and having struggles at the plate. Makes it tough to get behind them in this game.
The Cardinals Team Preview
The Cardinals offense wasn’t great to start yesterdays game, but they pulled it out late, and they ended up winning with a score of 3-2. Lars Nootbarr hit a home run and drove in two RBIs. The Cardinals are averaging 4.09 runs, while their pitching is giving up 4.52 runs per game. The offense is ranked 24th in the league, while the pitching is ranked 19th.
Alec Burleson has hit 21 home runs and driven in 70 RBIs so far this season. Getting the start for the Cardinals will be Kyle Gibson, who sits with a 7-5 record and an ERA of 4.22. In his last start against the Milwaukee Brewers, he went 5.1 innings, giving up seven hits and two runs. I’m not necessarily a fan of Gibson, but I do give him a slight advantage in this game.
The Cardinals Vs Padres
Game Prediction
The Pick : STL Cardinals ML
The Padres offense has not been great lately, them only putting up three runs on Sunday really worries me for them here. Kyle Gibson in his last start gave up only two runs, and he should have a good start. The Cardinals have won each of their last six games against the Padres at Busch Stadium following a win. I think the Red Birds find a way to get a win in this game at home!
