The Washington Commanders Team Preview!
The Commanders have had a pretty wild football season, probably keeping their fans on the edge of their seats with those nail-biting close wins. They kicked off the year with a decent 7-5 record, losing to the Buccaneers, Ravens, Steelers, Eagles, and Cowboys, but snagging wins against the Giants, Bengals, Cardinals, Browns, Panthers, Bears, and Giants during that stretch. After that, though, it was nothing but wins for the Commanders. They wrapped up the season by beating the Titans, Saints, Eagles, Falcons, and Cowboys, ending with a solid 12-5 regular-season record.
In their Wild Card playoff game against the Buccaneers, Washington snagged their first postseason win in an incredible 6,945 days. It was a nail-biter, though, as the Commanders left halftime tied at 10-10 and needed a last-minute field goal to clinch a tense 23-20 victory. QB Jayden Daniels threw for 268 yards with two touchdowns and also led the rushing game with 13 carries for 36 yards. Dyami Brown was the standout receiver, snagging a TD pass among his five catches for 89 yards. Terry McLaurin caught the other touchdown, finishing with seven catches for 89 yards himself.

On the Lions' side, they've finally had an awesome season. Detroit went 3-1, with a loss to the Buccaneers but wins against the Rams, Cardinals, and Seahawks before their early Week 5 bye. After that, the Lions went on a winning streak, taking down the Cowboys, Vikings, Titans, Packers, Texans, Jaguars, Colts, Bears, and Packers again. They eventually lost by six points to a strong Bills team. But then, Detroit bounced back, beating the Bears, 49ers, and Vikings to wrap up a fantastic 15-2 regular season.

The Washington Commanders vs Detroit Lions
Game Prediction!
The Pick: Lions -9.5 +105
I'm sticking with Detroit. If you love seeing evenly matched football, this game is perfect since both teams have had their struggles. The Lions are coming off a break after taking down a tough Vikings team, racking up 24 first downs and 394 yards, even with a couple of turnovers. They've been on a roll, scoring over 31 points in five straight games, averaging 33.2 points while keeping opponents to just 20.1. It's going to be a tough road game for the Commanders. Washington has been squeaking by with close wins, like their recent three-point victory over the Bucs, with their last five games all decided by six points or less. If the Lions don't get too cocky, their extra prep time and home field should give them the edge to move forward in the playoffs.
Why the Detroit Lions will win
The Lions have won each of their last 10 games against NFC opponents.
The Commanders have lost each of their last four Divisional Round road games.
The Lions have covered the spread in seven of their last eight games when playing with a rest advantage.
The Commanders have failed to cover the spread in three of their last four road games against NFC North opponents.
